Chemical Weapons

Chemical weapons have a long history in warfare, both in human history as well as other races. However, the simple gases and poisons of early history pale in comparison to the designer chemical weapons of the modern galaxy. While some toxins may be designed with the goal of killing a wide variety of species in a matter of seconds, others may take the more subtle approach of inducing extremely vivid hallucinations or psychotic episodes.

Depending on the relative power of the chemical weapon, its use may be seen as a reprehensible act by many nations throughout the galaxy, especially if used on civilians. Never the less, more authoritarian nations have been known to use chemical weapons to subdue or pacify their populations in the face of civil unrest or outright rebellion. While these chemical weapons are typically non-lethal, they are often far from humane.
