Religion is a collection of cultural systems, belief systems, and worldviews that establishes symbols that relate humanity to spirituality and moral values. Many religions have beliefs, traditions and ancient histories said to sacred to their religious group, these are in some cases made to give meaning to life and explain the existence of life as we know it, and to some extents how the universe came to be.

Different species have different religious belief systems, ranging from organised religions, Monotheistic (one God), Polytheistic (several/many Gods). There are usually three types of broad category of religion. There are world religions, which refers to transcultural, international faiths; indigenous religions, which refers to smaller, culture-specific or nation-specific religious groups; and new religious movements, which refers to recently developed faiths in recent times. The terms can be interchangeable in the scope of the Galaxy at large, however.
