The term 'Wormhole' can refer to two things.
1: A metric anomaly that creates a 'shortcut' through space. These objects are almost always on the quantum scale, but larger instances have been found and even created.

2: A particular jump trajectory that due to a fortunate alignment of gravitational fields allows for extremely fast long-range jumps with very little jump deviation. Their locations are almost always non-intuitive and they are only seldomly discovered before local space is completely mapped. These are most commonly meant with the term 'wormhole'. Notably, they often form networks connecting a number of wormhole hubs. A network of particularly long-distance wormholes connects the currently known spheres.
